Legal Services FAQ

I accept cash, checks, credit cards, and debit cards. For cash payments, please call the office ahead of time to set a time for us to meet, so I know what time you will be stopping by and so I can give you a receipt. For check payments, please make checks out to Law Office of Trent Harris. For credit card and debit card payments, I can take your payment over the phone, or I can send you an email invoice you can pay over the internet. Please note though, for credit and debit card payments I will need to add a 3% surcharge to the total to cover card processing fees.

As of 1/1/2024, I charge $300 per hour for my time, billed in 1/10 of an hour (6 minute) increments. Pricing is subject to change in the future; please call for our current pricing. For matters billed hourly, I can give you an estimate before we begin of the total amount of time and costs I expect your matter to take. I also offer flat-rate services for transactional matters like deeds, leases, land contracts, LLC formation, and estate planning. Please call me to discuss your needs, and I can let you know what you should expect it to cost.

I can meet with you in person, by videoconference, or by telephone – whatever format you are most comfortable with. I prefer to do most client meetings by telephone, although at the beginning of a new matter, it is often helpful to meet in person, so we can put a name to a face and get a feel for one another.

Yes. I offer a free phone consult up to 30 minutes. If your consult will run longer than 30 minutes, I will give you the option to continue our consult up to one hour for $125 which is 1/2 my usual rate.

No, I do not accept walk-in clients. If you would like to meet with me, please call the office ahead of time to set a time for us to meet.

No, I do not provide services in these areas of law. However, I am happy to provide you with a referral to another attorney who can help you with these types of matters.
